Série comissionada pela Casa Museu Ema Klabin para a exposição Rio de Janeiro XIX-XXI (2024). Nessas rasuras no álbum Souvenirs de Rio de Janeiro (1835) , intervenho nas paisagens do artista suíço Steinmann, questionando a passividade imposta às pessoas negras em suas pinturas e resgatando narrativas de revoltas e revoluções silenciadas. Também redesenho sobre imagens de Rugendas, referência nas molduras de Steinmann, para revelar essas articulações ocultas sob a ficção das imagens coloniais. Penso na imagem da fofoca e na articulação sonora peça fundamental para as grandes revoltas negras brasileiras.

Series commissioned by Casa Museu Ema Klabin for the exhibition Rio de Janeiro XIX-XXI (2024). In these erasures in the album Souvenirs de Rio de Janeiro (1835), I intervene in the landscapes of the Swiss artist Steinmann, questioning the passivity imposed on black people in his paintings and rescuing narratives of silenced revolts and revolutions. I also redraw on images by Rugendas, a reference in Steinmann's frames, to reveal these hidden articulations beneath the fiction of colonial images. I think of the image of gossip and the sound articulation as a fundamental piece for the great Brazilian black revolts.
